Getting started

How to begin, what we need from you and what happens first.

How do I start a project with Mint?

Press Start a Project and answer a few quick questions about what you need, your budget and your timeline. We read every request ourselves. Then we set up a free call to talk it through before we send a proposal.

That’s fine. Tell us what you want to achieve. We’ll suggest where to start, what can wait and how it all fits together. The first call is free, and there’s no pressure to sign anything.

Yes. You can start with one thing, like a logo, product photography or a few months of social media management. If you add more later, we already know your brand, so the new work fits right in.

A short creative brief is enough: a few lines about your business, who you want to reach and any deadlines. Examples of work you like are a big help, along with your logo and brand colours if you have them. You’ll also find a quick checklist on our process page.

Timing and deadlines

How long things take, and how we plan around your dates.

It depends on the size of the job and how quickly content and feedback come back. A set of social posts moves faster than a full brand, website or video. Your proposal includes a project timeline with key dates, so you know what to expect before work starts.

Tell us the date in your first message, and we’ll plan the steps around it. If the timing looks tight, we’ll say so honestly before you commit. We’ll also suggest what to do first, so the most important pieces are ready in time.

Your proposal includes delivery dates, so you can plan around them. For videos, you’ll see a first cut (an early edit) before the final version. We also set aside time for your changes. Need a few photos sooner, for a launch or a post? Tell us before the shoot, and we’ll edit those first.

Changes and feedback

How drafts, feedback and rounds of changes work.

Your proposal lists the rounds of changes (revisions) for each part of the project, so there are no surprises. Need more than that? No problem. We’ll tell you the cost before doing any extra work.

That’s what drafts are for. Tell us honestly what isn’t working, and we’ll go back to your goals and try again. Clear feedback early on saves time later and leads to work you’ll love.

Yes. Small updates later are normal, like a new date on a poster or a new photo on a web page. We quote extra work the same clear way as your first project, so you always know the cost first.

Payments and budgets

How quotes, budgets and payments work, with no surprises.

It depends on what you need, so we build every quote around your project. After a free call, you’ll get a written proposal with the price, what’s included and the timeline. You’ll know the full cost before any work begins, and we never add anything extra without your OK.

That’s completely fine. Choose ‘Not sure yet’ in our form, and we’ll talk through options on a free call. If your budget is tight, we’ll tell you what to do first and what can wait. You’re never locked in.

Your proposal sets out the payment terms before any work begins. They cover any deposit and when each payment is due. We can also split larger projects into stages. If you have questions about paying, just ask on our first call.

Files and ownership

The files you get, who owns them and how to send us yours.

You’ll get files for print and for screens. For design work, that usually means print-ready PDFs plus PNG and JPG files. For logo design, you also get vector files, which stay sharp at any size. Videos come in the sizes your plan needs, like wide for YouTube and tall for Reels.

Before work starts, your proposal sets out who owns the final files and where you can use them. In most cases, you can use the work anywhere your business needs it. But some parts, like stock photos or licensed music, have their own rules, and we’ll explain them. Planning to sell a design on products? Tell us early.

Add them to the Start a Project form. PDF, JPG, PNG and ZIP files work well. If something is too big to upload, mention it in your message, and we’ll send you a link. Your logo, a brief, sketches and examples you like all help us understand your project.

Working together, day to day

What it’s like to work with us, from the first call to the final files.

Only at the key moments: the first call, approving the plan, reviewing drafts and signing off the final work. We handle everything in between and keep you posted, so you can focus on running your business.

Yes. Design, web and marketing work happens online, so we can work with you wherever you are. Video and photo shoots happen in person. For shoots outside our area, we include any travel in your quote.
