Sample web design case study: it shows how we approach this service. We’ll replace it with real client work over time.
- Site map
- Wireframes for key pages
- Phone, tablet and desktop designs
- Clickable test version
- Style guide
Where this project started
A college program’s website has grown page by page for years. Important details like fees, deadlines and entry requirements hide in long PDFs. The menu has too many choices. Also, most students visit on their phones, where the site is hard to use.
The thinking behind the work
Design the site around five questions every future student asks. What will I learn? How long does it take? What does it cost? Can I get in? How do I apply? Each answer gets its own clear, phone-friendly page.
The finished work, up close
We’d start with a simpler site map and rough layout sketches (wireframes) for every key page. Then we’d create full page designs for phone, tablet and desktop. Students could then try a clickable test version. Finally, a short style guide would make sure new pages always match.
The results
This sample web design case study shows how we’d plan and design a website around real questions. On a real project, we’d measure how quickly people find key answers and how many start an application. Real results will appear here once Michael’s own projects replace this sample.
